PLATFORM SUPPORT ANALYST

POSITION SUMMARY

The Platforms Support Analyst is to act as the first line point of contact for all IT related platform issues. They will test applications, both software and hardware to make sure they are reliable, fully functional, and user-friendly before they are released to end users. This individual is expected to act on own initiative to devise test plans, provide first live support, escalate critical issues, and generally look for flaws and weaknesses in systems and make suggestions or develop solutions for how to make a system work better. This position is considered an essential position. This means that during times of inclement weather, emergencies, or when access to the workplace may be impeded, that employees in this position may be expected to report to work to support business continuance, unless otherwise instructed by his/her direct manager.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • BSC/BA in Computer Science or related discipline
  • At least 2+ years’ experience working in technical operations environment
  • Experience with monitoring and supporting digital platforms
  • Working knowledge of Help Desk Systems such as ServiceNow, Manage Engine
  • Strong Experience in MS Word, Excel or similar computer software systems.
  • Experience as a QA Tester or similar role is a plus
  • Understand and be able to work with monitoring systems and related technologies
  • Knowledge of managing, deploying, and supporting releases
  • Strong analytical and technical background with good problem-solving skills
  • Good understanding of SDLC and familiarity with agile frameworks and regression testing is a plus
  • Must be able to work independently and prioritize workload to complete tasks in a timely manner
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and friendly disposition
  • Able to communicate technical matters to technical and non-technical audiences

PROGRAMMER ANALYST

POSITION SUMMARY

The Programmer Analyst has the responsibility to evaluate, analyze, develop, test, implement and maintain application software systems that support any/all aspects of the overall business.

They will also play a leading role in managing projects for which application development or scoping is required. This position works closely with the commercial and operations teams to deliver world class products through application development and vendor management.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related discipline
  • 5 years’ experience in business applications analysis and development

KEY COMPETENCIES

  • Strong Understanding of coding standards and best practices
  • Proficient in common programming languages, frameworks and design patterns such as Microsoft .NET, C#, ASP.Net, MVC, bootstrap, jquery, AJAX, JSON
  • Knowledge of mobile development using flutter
  • Adept at the development and execution of test plans and debugging
  • Management and maintenance of source code within an enterprise source control system
  • Design and development of relational databases
  • Experience with relational databases such as SQL Server and Oracle.
  • Authoring reports using SQL Server Reporting Services and modern visualization tools such as PowerBI, Jasper Reports
  • Prior experience interviewing end-users for insight on functionality, interface, problems, and/or usability issues

DATABASE ADMINISTRATOR

POSITION SUMMARY

The Database Administrator is responsible for the availability, performance, integrity and security of the organisation’s database estate. The role covers installation, configuration, monitoring, tuning, backup and recovery of production and non-production database platforms, and the design and maintenance of the data marts that feed business applications and reporting.

The incumbent works closely with the software developers, infrastructure and information security teams to ensure that data is protected, that systems meet agreed service levels, and that database change is delivered in a controlled and documented manner in accordance with established company policies and best practices. The role also serves as the principal point of contact for database matters raised by internal and external auditors, and for database-related engagement with vendors.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or a related discipline.
  • At least Four years (4) years’ experience in database administration in a production environment.
  • Professional certification such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate, or Oracle Certified Professional, is an asset.

KEY COMPETENCIES

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft SQL Server administration, including Always On, replication, SQL Server Agent and Database Mail.
  • Advanced T-SQL, including query tuning, execution plan analysis and index strategy.
  • Strong Working knowledge of Microsoft Power BI and Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS)
  • Familiarity with cloud database services such as Azure SQL Database or Managed Instance.
  • Backup, recovery and high availability design, and demonstrable experience of restore testing.
  • Database security administration, including role-based access control, encryption and auditing.
  • Scripting knowledge for automation using PowerShell, Python or an equivalent language.
  • Management and maintenance of database code within an enterprise source control system.
  • Design and development of relational databases, including normalisation and data modelling.
  • Understanding of application development practices sufficient to review and advise on database access
  • Strong communication and documentation skills

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Overtime and On-call for database incidents.
  • Frequently required to work beyond normal hours, including scheduled maintenance windows outside business hours, to achieve deadlines and minimise business disruption.
